Technology that works and stays yours.
I help small businesses, family businesses, and nonprofits get technology that stays out of the way. I've done this for my own family's bakery — converted it to worker ownership, tripled revenue. I can do it for yours.
Running a small business is hard.
Here's what I hear from the folks I work with.
Stuff keeps breaking and no one can fix it.
I build documented setups one person can run. No calling a vendor every time something hiccups.
I'm drowning in monthly subscriptions.
Where it makes sense, I move you onto tools you own outright. You stop renting your own business back.
I want to pass this on — not sell to a stranger.
Worker ownership and cooperative models. I've done it for my own family business and I can map the path for yours.
Big tech doesn't care about us.
I build what you actually need. Nothing you don't. No enterprise features you'll never touch.
I don't just advise this. I lived it.
I turned my family's cookie bakery into a worker-owned business. Revenue tripled.
"There's a lot of shared DNA between baking cookies and shipping software. Recipes, a production line, a package, a customer. Source code, a pipeline, a build, a deploy. Same shape."
Covered Bridge is a thirty-year-old family cookie bakery in Vermont. His father's recipes, real ingredients, nothing you can't pronounce. We went to 100% worker ownership — four owners, living wage, good conditions. The legacy stays with the people who do the work.
It's hard. Real collaboration — sharing power genuinely — is hard every day. Worth it. But not a switch you flip once. You choose it, actively, every morning.
My practice.
I listen first, understand where you are, then we figure out the right answer together.
Technology & Automation
Infrastructure, DevOps, and private AI for small operations. Documented, one-person-run setups. Your data stays yours.
Business Succession & Legacy
You built something worth passing on. Family, co-op, or buyout — I help you find the structure that keeps what matters.
Operational Process Design
Rehashing what works: documented SOPs, supply-chain resilience, and the daily systems that let a small shop run without you in every room.
Governance & Facilitation
Real collaboration is hard. I help co-ops, boards, and member-owned orgs build meeting structures and decision practices that don't burn people out.
"If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together."

Engagements & pricing.
A focused project — a defined piece of work with a clear finish line. Migrating off rented subscriptions onto tools you own, documenting a setup so one person can run it, mapping a path to worker ownership. Scoped and quoted up front. Most projects begin in the low-to-mid four figures, depending on scope.
An ongoing arrangement — a monthly retainer for businesses that want me on call as things grow. Predictable, cancel anytime, sized to what you actually need.
I keep a couple of slots open at reduced rates for nonprofits and worker co-ops in New England — if that's you, say so on our call and we'll find something that works.
“Not sure which fits? That’s what the free call is for. We’ll figure out the right shape together before any number is on the table.”
I work best with people who want it to work.
- You want a quick vendor. I work best with owners, not procurement departments. If you're looking for someone to execute a spec and never talk to again, there are firms that do that well.
- You want AI to replace the people you have. I build tools that give leverage to the people already doing the work. If the goal is headcount reduction, we're on different missions.
- You're not ready to document anything. The work only lasts if the person after you can run it. If you want a black-box setup that only I can touch, I'll pass.
- You need a co-op conversion in 90 days. Real collaboration — sharing power genuinely — takes longer than that. If there's a hard deadline, say so on the first call so we don't waste yours.
- Your team isn't on board. I need at least one person on your side who wants this to work — otherwise the systems won't stick and the co-op won't hold.
I'd rather show you than pitch you.
The first call is free.
No script, no funnel. Tell me what you're trying to build, keep, or pass on.
